The Final Knight

The End

Well, would you look at that, we made it to the end!
If you've been following along with our chaotic journey of flying heads, slapping torsos, and shin-kicking legs: thank you. Seriously.

Whether you laughed with us, cried with us, or just watched in confusion as we tried to glue goblins together, we’re glad you were here. This will be our last devlog, but GobGobKnight lives on in code and chaos.

The final Devlog

During this last week of development, we went into full bug-hunting mode, tracking down every glitch, hiccup, and misplaced goblin part we could find. It was a week of whack-a-mole debugging, jumping from one small issue to the next until everything finally seemed stable. That is, until the real final boss appeared. The game started crashing in the final build for no obvious reason. Everything worked in the editor, but once built, it just gave up. After nearly two hours of head-scratching, we found the issue buried deep in some odd timer behavior. Luckily, once discovered, it was a decently straightforward fix. Emotionally, though? It drove us mad.

On the brighter side, our UI got a much-needed makeover. The main menu now has a new font that better fits the game's tone, and the end screens have been completely redesigned. If you lose, you get to stare at the lifeless goblin bodies as a reminder of your defeat. But if you win, you're treated to a triumphant overview of the world you fought through. Whether you fall in battle or rise in glory, your ending now feels a lot more... final.
